2026. 1. 12. A study we co-authored has been published in Anticancer Research, identifying immune gene signatures (including S100A8 and SPINK5) and a predictive model for response and prognosis to neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy in rectal cancer.🙉

2026. 1. 5. We enjoyed a New Year dinner together with amazing bang-eo 🐟 and welcomed Jaeryun to the MS–PhD program, along with Seonwoo and Haeun as undergraduate interns. 🤝😃

2025. 10. 21. Seokjun and Daeyeol had an inspiring time in Boston for ASHG 2025, sharing their latest work through a poster presentation. Beyond science, the trip included visits to the PI’s favorite local spots, city runs, a quick New York tour, and even a basketball game. 🧬🏃‍♂️🏀 

2025. 9. 13. Our lab has been awarded a 3-year grant (KRW 80 million/year) through the Pioneer Research Program, funded by the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT)!! 🥳🥳 This project will focus on decoding senescent cancer cell states during therapy and their roles in tumor microenvironments, aiming to uncover strategies to overcome therapy resistance. 🤓 We kicked things off with a celebratory lunch! 🐮 

2025. 9. 1. Our lab has been awarded a 1-year grant (KRW 60 million) from the 2025 Kyung Hee Medical Science Research Institute Research Capacity Enhancement Program! ✨ This project aims to identify the key regulators of radiation-induced senescent cancer cells and elucidate mechanisms of radiotherapy resistance, with the ultimate goal of suppressing tumor recurrence and metastasis. 😉😉

2025. 8. 30. We had a joyful lab gathering to celebrate Suhan Cho before his wedding, and now he is officially married! 🎉💍 Congratulations, Suhan! 

2025. 8. 4. A study we co-authored has just been published in Journal of Proteome Research, demonstrating the feasibility of using long-term stored tissues for multi-omics and proteogenomics analyses in cancer research! 💡 

2025. 7. 23. A study we co-authored has just been published in Advanced Science, reporting the anti-tumor effects of mRNA-based personalized cancer vaccines (PCVs) in colorectal cancer! 💘

2025. 7. 2. Suhan Cho’s study on miRNA networks in head and neck cancer metastasis—started in our lab and now continued during his PhD at Max Planck with help from Seokjun and Yuseong—was just published in Scientific Reports. 🌞🌞

2025. 5. 15. For Teacher’s Day, our lab members prepared flowers and cake and shared a sweet moment together! 🎂🌸 — thank you all so much!

2025. 5. 11. Seok June Hong has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 Kyung Hee University Presidential Research Fellowship in Medical Sciences. 🥳🎉 

2025. 4. 25. Our lab has been awarded a 5-year grant (KRW 120 million/year) through the Next-Generation Biotechnology Program of the Bio & Medical Technology Development Program, funded by the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT)!! ✨✨ This project will focus on identifying novel CAR-TAM targets and developing innovative therapeutic modalities. 🧐🧐 We celebrated this exciting start with a kickoff dinner! 🍽️

The SysBioinfoLab members attended the 21st KOGO Winter Symposium, where Kwoneel Kim gave a talk titled "Decoding Immunotherapy Response through AI-driven Modeling of Tumor Microenvironment Landscapes"—a current research topic of Seok Bo Shim. We also stayed up late chatting over some amazing whiskyyyyyyy (shoutout to Hyuk Hwang for that!). 🥴🥴

Dae Yeol Yang's research, originating from his undergraduate internship and recognized with the department's Best Poster Presentation Award, analyzed epigenetic changes caused by fetal exposure to fine particulate matter and their impact on asthma onset, now published in Environmental Pollution. 🎇🎇

2024. 11. 23. The lung cancer multiomics paper, primarily analyzed by Seok Bo Shim and Ji Soo Park, with additional analysis support from Dae Yeol Yang in the later stages, has been published in Nature Communications. 🎉🎉
